Louisiana Boardwalk Features

Welcome!
The Red River is the picturesque setting for Bossier City's unique shopping and entertainment destination, Louisiana Boardwalk. Across the Red River from downtown Shreveport, the project's first phase opened in spectacular fashion in November, 2003, with the state's first Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World. The remainder of Boardwalk opened in May 2005 and joined a vibrant casino district nestled along the majestic riverfront for nearly a half-mile.  Louisiana Boardwalk is the first lifestyle center to open in the state of Louisiana offering outlet shopping, an entertainment district and riverfront dining.

NOW OPEN! FAMILY PICNIC AREA!

Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World
Bass Pro Outdoor World opened at the Louisiana Boardwalk in November, 2003. More than just a fishing and hunting store, Bass Pro Outdoor World offers equipment for hiking, backpacking, wildlife viewing, camping, outdoor cooking and more. The Alligator Pit located at the front of the store has become a very popular destination for tourists and shoppers alike.

The alligators have returned to Uncle Buck's Bayou at Bass Pro!

Elvis and his friends [a total of five alligators] are out of hibernation and have been released into Uncle Buck's Bayou located in front of Bass Pro Shop.  These five (5) alligators are on loan from Natchitoches Alligator Park where hundreds of alligators are raised and displayed in their habitats each year.

The 3,000 square foot Bass Pro Shops' alligator habitat was constructed with nearly nine tons of steel and 100 cubic yards of concrete. The enclosure is fenced with an eight foot steel fence and has alligator guards to prevent people from reaching into the enclosure and to also keep the gators a safe distance from spectators.  Bass Pro Shop's gator exhibit will include educational feeding demonstrations and fun facts to learn about gators and their living habits.
